History of The ASU Group

The ASU Group first opened its doors for business in 1952.  Originally called Michigan Claims Service, we began by providing independent claims adjusting services for insurance companies in lower Michigan and over time expanded to include all of Michigan.

Listening to our clients and responding to their needs, we expanded into other areas and states while gaining strength through diversifying into other claims services including: case management, risk management, CAT adjusting and medical review.  To more accurately reflect that growth and our diverse services for the insurance and risk industry, we changed from being known as Michigan Claims Service to our present brand, The ASU Group.

Today, we're a 100% employee-owned ESOP and we still continue to listen to our clients and adjust to meet their needs.  And while we were changing with the industry for the last 50 plus years, we gained the strength of a big company and retained the heart of a small one.  We look forward to continuing our history with you.
